Constantin Brancusi - Toward the absolute

6 September - 27 October 2017
Overview

Art is the absolute truth.

The search for the absolute, at work in Brancusi's art, occurs on one hand through this quest for brilliance to the point of the transparency of the material, and on the other hand it occurs through the simplification and the abstraction of forms because "simplicity is complexity resolved". Brancusi wanted to reveal "the essence of things".

Princess X, Head, and Sophisticated young girl are the three sculptures that make up the exhibition whose ambition is to explore the aesthetic and philosophical pursuit of an artist who has pioneered the realm of modern sculpture.
